Liubov Velychko

Liubov Velychko is a Shifting Democracies Fellow at Global Press Journal based in Kiev, Ukraine. She specializes in exposing disinformation campaigns and has conducted numerous investigations into Russian propaganda, revealing the networks behind its spread and dismantling the information operations orchestrated by Russian intelligence agencies.

Her work has been featured in major Ukrainian media outlets, including LIGA.net, Mind.ua, and Slovo i dilo. She is a member of several international investigative journalism networks, such as N-ost, the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP), and the Center for Collaborative Investigative Journalism (CCIJ).

In 2024, Liubov was selected as a Bertha Challenge Investigative Journalist Fellow, focusing on the role of disinformation in the climate crisis. Her commitment to press freedom and journalist safety has been a constant in her career. She is a noted public speaker offering systemic and institutional solutions to protect journalists, drawing from her own experiences facing threats and surveillance.
