Angana Chakrabarti is a Shifting Democracies Reporting Fellow based in Assam, India. She covers the politics of the Northeast region of India. In 2022, she won the Mumbai Press Club’s Red Ink Award for her reporting on the vandalism of mosques in the state of Tripura. She has contributed to numerous media outlets, including Al Jazeera, FiftyTwo, and IndiaSpend. She is a recipient of the University of Essex and The Guardian Foundation’s Media Fellowship.
Through her work, Angana has proven essential to bringing attention to the complex sociopolitical dynamics of Northeast India.
